The term "convocation" refers specifically to the entirety of the alumni of a college which functions as one of the university's representative bodies. Graduation is only a concept. In real life each and every day you graduate. Graduation is a process that goes on until the last day of your life. The journey of life and fruit of hard work of academic years begins with completion of degree convocation certificate.
1st Annual Convocation Ceremony for all passed out students for the academic year 2016-2017 was held on 12th March, 2018 (Monday), in seminar Hall (1st Floor) Students of B.Sc(I.T) & B.M.S. courses were awarded degree certificate issued by University of Mumbai. All the interested students confirm their presence by return email forwarded to Asst.Prof.Pooja R.Tiwari.The registration of alumni students was done by Asst.Prof.Pooja B.Tiwari.Then students were handled to Asst.Prof.Pooja R.Tiwari for their proper convocation dressing.
The Convocation began with an academic procession arrival in seminar hall followed by the University Song. The event was escorted by Asst.Prof.Shrusha H.Chavan by welcoming the chief guest Dr.Uttam Kadam, Principal Vidyaniketan College of Commerece,Ghatkopar,Mumbai ,Joint Secretary Shri Vijay L.Upadhyay sir, registrar Shri.Sanjay Tiwari sir, principal Shrin Gonsalves , teaching & non teaching staff, parents & students. The program which was held from 1.00 pm to 2.30 pm. Felicitation was done for guests. Welcome address and declaration of the opening of Convocation ceremony and introductory speech was given by our principal. Then our Joint Secretary Shri Vijay L.Upadhyay sir addressed students ,“Believe in you. Believe in all that you are, all that you can be and all that you stand for. ” He concluded his speech by stressing on the fact to value honesty & integrity at their workplace.
Dr.Uttam Kadam, Principal Vidyaniketan College of Commerce, Ghatkopar, Mumbai graced the occasion as the Chief Guest of the ceremony. He addressed “Now onwards the responsibilities on your shoulder are doubled, as on one hand you have to excel in your career and on the other you have duties towards your family members accomplished”. He advised the students to pursue their higher studies and asked them to learn while earning. He further said that, Students must work hard to develop their skills and should consistently work with sincerity, which is the key to success. And also gave various examples of real life.
After addressing to students by chief guest, management and principal degree certificates were awarded to the graduates. Alumni students took the pledge to be honest in the discharge of their duties and serve for the cause of the nation. Pledge was taken in Marathi and oath was taken in English. The convocation function was dissolved by the Principal. A ceremonial group photograph of all alumni graduates was clicked. All the current academic year students witnessed this wonderful event.
The disciplined was maintained by Asst.Prof.L.C.Patel, Asst.Prof.Prasd Deshmukh and Asst.Prof.Bhagyashri Padhyar.Vote of thanks was given to each and everyone for their valuable presence and support. The 1st annual convocation ceremony ended at around 2.30.p.m. with the National Anthem. The Academic Procession moved back to the principal office in the reverse order and the degree awardees followed at the back of the procession.
The whole event was successfully coordinated and everybody appreciated the efforts of alumni students and everyone was feeling proud for them. The first Convocation Ceremony ended with a ray of hope and joy that is sure to inspire the students and faculty of this college in the years ahead.
